The Legislature hereby specifically authorizes the board of\n\nregents for each of the institutions within The Oklahoma State\n\nSystem of Higher Education to own an equity interest in a private\n\nbusiness enterprise if the equity interest is acquired through an\n\nexchange of value other than money and the exchange of value is made\n\nin connection with the development of technology by the private\n\nbusiness enterprise through the use of facilities or resources or\n\nboth of an institution within The Oklahoma State System of Higher\n\nEducation. Acquisition of an equity interest shall be permissible\n\nthrough the use of the facilities, premises or assets of an\n\ninstitution within The Oklahoma State System of Higher Education or\n\nthrough the use of faculty expertise or student expertise, including\n\nthe value of time expended by faculty or students upon developing a\n\ntechnology in connection with a private business enterprise or\n\nprivate business entity.\n\nB.
