Unless otherwise prohibited by law, each person appointed on\n\nor after January 1, 1991, as a member of the board of regents for an\n\ninstitution or group of institutions within The Oklahoma State\n\nSystem of Higher Education shall be required to attend a minimum of\n\nfifteen (15) clock hours of continuing education during the first\n\ntwo (2) years of the term of office of the member. At least two (2)\n\nof the fifteen (15) hours must be in ethics. The continuing\n\neducation courses which shall satisfy the continuing education\n\nrequirement shall be held within this state and shall be selected by\n\nthe Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. The Attorney\n\nGeneral shall advise the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education\n\non the selection of continuing education courses.\n\nB. It is the intent of the Oklahoma Legislature that the\n\nfailure by a member of the board of regents to satisfy the\n\ncontinuing education requirement of this section shall disqualify\n\nsuch member from being reappointed to the membership of the board of\n\nregents to which such person is a member or from being appointed to\n\nthe membership of any other board of regents of any institution or\n\ngroup of institutions within The Oklahoma State System of Higher\n\nEducation.\n\nC. The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education shall\n\nprovide opportunities for regents to complete said continuing\n\neducation at various locations within the state.
