Beginning with the 2004-2005 academic year, in order to\n\nenroll as a full-time or part-time student in an institution within\n\nThe Oklahoma State System of Higher Education or a private\n\ninstitution of higher learning located within this state and\n\naccredited pursuant to Section 4103 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes, an individual shall provide written documentation of\n\nvaccinations against hepatitis B, measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR).\n\n2. The requirement shall not apply to students enrolling in\n\ncourses delivered via the Internet or distance learning in which the\n\nstudent is not required to attend class on campus.\n\nB. Beginning with the 2004-2005 academic year, institutions\n\nshall notify students of the requirements of subsection A of this\n\nsection and provide students with educational information on\n\nhepatitis B, measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) upon enrollment.\n\nSuch information shall also include the risks and benefits of the\n\nvaccination. Institutions shall not be required to provide or pay\n\nfor vaccinations against hepatitis B, measles, mumps, and rubella\n\n(MMR).\n\nC. A written statement from a licensed physician indicating\n\nthat a vaccine is medically contraindicated shall exempt a student\n\nfrom the vaccination. A student shall be exempt from the\n\nvaccination if the student submits a written, signed statement\n\ndeclaring that the administration of the vaccine conflicts with the\n\nstudent’s moral or religious tenets or, if the student is a minor,\n\nthe student’s parent or guardian provides a written statement that\n\nthe administration of the vaccine conflicts with the parent’s or\n\nguardian’s moral or religious tenets.\n\nD. It shall be the responsibility of the governing body or\n\nboard of regents for each public or private postsecondary\n\ninstitution or group of institutions to adopt policies for the\n\nimplementation of this section.
