Stat. tit. 70, § 70-3245","heading":"Agreements to sell student data for marketing of consumer","body":"credit prohibited - Definitions.\n\nNo institution within The Oklahoma State System of Higher\n\nEducation or technology center school within the state system of\n\ncareer and technology education shall enter into any agreement on or\n\nafter the effective date of this act to sell student data to any\n\ncreditor for purposes of marketing consumer credit to students.\n\nProvided, nothing in this section shall preclude an institution or\n\nschool from releasing student data as permitted by the Oklahoma Open\n\nRecords Act.\n\nAs used in this section:\n\n1. “Creditor” means a person, partnership, corporation,\n\nassociation, or other entity who, in the ordinary course of\n\nbusiness, regularly extends consumer credit. The term creditor\n\nshall include any agent of a creditor for collection, processing, or\n\nother purposes;\n\n2. “Consumer credit” means credit extended to a consumer as a\n\nconsumer loan as defined in Section 3-104 of Title 14A of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes or a lender credit card or seller credit card as\n\ndefined in Section 1-301 of Title 14A of the Oklahoma Statutes; and\n\n3. “Student data” means the same as directory information as\n\ndefined in Section 24A.16 of Title 51 of the Oklahoma Statutes.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"429a172a858d2dd78efb346ebc1ed5238e75f4a500bcaaac9e2d45c12fe8059a","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3244","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3246"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
