Stat. tit. 70, § 70-3310","heading":"Oklahoma Geological Survey","body":"(a) The Geological Survey of the State of Oklahoma located at\n\nNorman, Oklahoma, shall be under the direction and supervision of\n\nthe Board of Regents of the University of Oklahoma and shall be\n\nknown as the Oklahoma Geological Survey.\n\n(b) The said Oklahoma Geological Survey shall have for its\n\nobject and duties the following:\n\n(1) A study of the geological formations of the state with\n\nspecial reference to its mineral deposits, including coal, oil, gas,\n\nasphalt, gypsum, salt, cement, stone, clay, lead, zinc, iron, sand,\n\nroad building material, water resources and all other mineral\n\nresources.\n\n(2) The preparation and publication of bulletins and reports,\n\naccompanied with necessary illustrations and maps, including both\n\ngeneral and detailed descriptions of the geological structure and\n\nmineral resources of the state.\n\n(3) The consideration of such other scientific and economic\n\nquestions as, in the judgment of the survey shall be deemed of value\n\nto the people.\n\n(4) Act as the Oklahoma Board on Geographic Names and make\n\nrecommendations to the United States Board on Geographic Names.\n\n(c) The Director shall present to the Board a biennial report,\n\nready for printing, showing the progress and condition of said\n\nsurvey together with such other information as the Board may deem\n\nnecessary.\n\n(d) In order to carry out the provisions of this section it\n\nshall be lawful for all persons employed by the survey to enter and\n\ncross all lands within the State: Provided, that in so doing no\n\ndamage shall be done to private property.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"cbad691a8dfbe203b9c88c193b3356d7d2db7f62a67bbad77760b0aa6a6f08bf","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3309.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3311"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
