Stat. tit. 70, § 70-3311.17","heading":"Technology center schools – Law enforcement courses","body":"and training – CLEET approval.\n\nA. Any state-supported technology center school in this state\n\noperating under the State Board of Career and Technology Education\n\nor any higher education institution in this state shall be\n\nauthorized to, upon application and approval of the Council on Law\n\nEnforcement Education and Training (CLEET), offer courses of study\n\nfor law enforcement certification, basic peace officer certification\n\nacademies and other law-enforcement-related training. Commissioned\n\nand noncommissioned individuals and those individuals appointed or\n\nnot appointed by a law enforcement agency may attend the courses or\n\ntraining offered by the technology center school or higher education\n\ninstitution. CLEET shall vote to approve or deny an application to\n\noffer courses or training offered pursuant to this section. Notice\n\nof denial of application shall include a clear and concise statement\n\nfor which the denial is based. The application created by CLEET\n\nshall not exceed twenty pages in total form. Courses and training\n\noffered by authorized entities shall consist of actual classroom\n\ntraining at each entity location. Authorized entities may contract\n\nwith CLEET for non-classroom training.\n\nB. Any courses or training offered pursuant to this section\n\nshall meet minimum standards established for peace officers as set\n\nforth in Section 3311 of this title and meet all applicable\n\neligibility requirements for students to receive benefits pursuant\n\nto any of the federal G.I. bills. All participants in any courses\n\nor training offered pursuant to this section shall be required to\n\nsubmit all background investigation requirements as set forth in\n\nSection 3311 of this title.\n\nC. Any state-supported technology center school in this state\n\noperating under the State Board of Career and Technology Education\n\nor any higher education institution in this state shall be\n\nauthorized to set and administer their own rates for tuition and\n\nfees for courses or training offered pursuant to this section.\n\nD. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, any materials\n\nand records provided by CLEET to any institution of higher education\n\nor state-supported technology center school conducting a basic law\n\nenforcement training shall remain the property of CLEET and retain\n\nconfidential status and shall not be released except under the\n\nconditions contained in Section 24A.8 of Title 51 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes. In addition, any materials and records provided by any\n\ninstitution of higher education or state-supported technology center\n\nschool conducting basic law enforcement training to CLEET shall be\n\nsubject to these same limitations on release. Such materials and\n\nrecords include, but are not limited to, all records maintained\n\npursuant to Section 3311 of this title and records relating to any\n\nemployed or certified full-time officer, reserve officer, retired\n\nofficer or other person; teacher lesson plans, tests and other\n\nteaching materials; and personal communications concerning\n\nindividual students except under the circumstances set forth in\n\nSection 24A.8 of Title 51 of the Oklahoma Statutes.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6b3696bbd7ce7905385015f1dc45d48b7bdfc8e9a789057d3a08c0a43be4b26c","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3311.16","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3311.18"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
