The Oklahoma State Legislature requests the Board of Regents\n\nat the University of Oklahoma to establish a cancer treatment and\n\nresearch program under the administrative direction of the Provost\n\nfor the Health Sciences Centers in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The\n\nprogram should provide statewide leadership in cancer research,\n\nprevention and information, and treatment and seek to gain national\n\nrecognition for excellence in the fight against cancer by being\n\nnamed as a comprehensive cancer center by the National Cancer\n\nInstitute.\n\nB. 1. The Board of Regents for the University of Oklahoma may\n\ncreate a not-for-profit corporation to raise funds and name a board\n\nof directors for the corporation to assist in the development of the\n\ncancer treatment and research program requested by this act.\n\n2. The board of directors of the corporation authorized in\n\nparagraph 1 of this subsection may select a name for the\n\ncorporation. The board shall choose its own chairperson.\n\nC.
