Stat. tit. 70, § 70-3414","heading":"Soil experiment stations","body":"(a) The Board of Regents of Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical\n\nCollege, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and the Experiment Station of the\n\nOklahoma State University of Agriculture and Applied Science, are\n\nauthorized to establish soil experiment stations; one to be located\n\nin the sandy land area of southwestern Oklahoma and easily\n\naccessible to a public highway and one to be located in the hilly\n\narea of east central Oklahoma, the specific locations of both to be\n\ndesignated by the Director of the Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment\n\nStation. Monies hereinafter authorized and appropriated to carry\n\nout the purposes of this Act shall be available for the purchase of\n\nland, construction and repair of improvements thereon, purchase of\n\nmachinery, equipment, and to cover any other necessary costs of\n\noperations of the stations herein authorized to be established.\n\n(b) Upon the establishment of the stations the Board of Regents\n\nfor the Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges shall be authorized\n\nhereby to request and receive cooperation and assistance of the\n\nUnited States and any of its agencies, and of agencies of this\n\nstate, in carrying out the work to reach the objectives of the\n\nstations, and to accept donations, grants, gifts, and contributions,\n\nin money, land, services, or otherwise, from the United States or\n\nany of its agencies, or from the state or any of its agencies, and\n\nto accept contributions from nongovernmental organizations or\n\npersons in order to carry out the purposes of this act.\n\n(c) Such experiment stations now established or established\n\nafter the effective date of this act shall be operated under the\n\ndirection and supervision of Oklahoma State University of\n\nAgriculture and Applied Science, and the experiments carried on\n\nthereat shall be designed to determine the most practical means of\n\nrestoring the desirable physical properties of the soil to the end\n\nof reclaiming and putting into profitable production the depleted\n\nsoils of Oklahoma, giving special attention to the various types of\n\nsoil. Research shall be made as to the long time effect of deep-\n\nplowing, determination of types and rates of fertilizers adaptable\n\nto the soil of Oklahoma, coordinated with practical legume rotations\n\nfor soil improvement, and determination of fertilizers and crops\n\nadaptable to the areas and any other studies that will aid in the\n\ndevelopment of Oklahoma agriculture.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"34d64b887c144258f3f93787ee5221a3af1d71ed7d834559c20fa9b7c4ce9faf","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3413","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3415"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
