Stat. tit. 70, § 70-3417","heading":"Agricultural research - Northeastern Oklahoma Pasture","body":"Improvement Program - Anaplasmosis - General research.\n\n(a) The Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural and\n\nMechanical Colleges, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and the Extension\n\nDivision of the Oklahoma State University of Agriculture and Applied\n\nScience are hereby authorized to establish and promote a pasture\n\nprogram to be known as \"Northeastern Oklahoma Pasture Improvement\n\nProgram\": to be located within the various counties of Northeastern\n\nOklahoma and to be designated by the Director of the Oklahoma\n\nAgricultural Extension Division. Monies hereinafter authorized and\n\nappropriated to carry out the purpose of this section shall be\n\navailable for the purchase of machinery, equipment, supplies and to\n\ncover rentals or any other necessary costs of operation of the\n\nprogram herein authorized.\n\nIn order to control the development of said pasture program the\n\nBoard of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical\n\nColleges are authorized to enter into lease agreements with land\n\nowners for such period of time as may be necessary to establish a\n\ncompleted program, provided, however, any lease payment to any\n\nindividual land owner shall not exceed One Dollar ($1.00) per acre\n\nper year for tract so leased.\n\nThe Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural and\n\nMechanical Colleges are authorized hereby to request and receive\n\ncooperation and assistance of the United States and any of its\n\nagencies, and of agencies of this state, in carrying out the work to\n\nreach the objectives of the program and to accept donations, grants,\n\ngifts, and contributions, in money, land, services or otherwise,\n\nfrom the United States and any of its agencies, or from the state or\n\nany of its agencies, and to accept contributions from\n\nnongovernmental organizations or persons in order to carry out the\n\npurposes of this section.\n\nSaid pasture program shall be operated under the direction and\n\nsupervision of the Oklahoma State University of Agriculture and\n\nApplied Science and the programs carried on shall be designed to\n\ndetermine the most practical means of restoring the desirable\n\nphysical properties of pasture land, to the end of reclaiming and\n\nputting into profitable production said pasture land of Northeastern\n\nOklahoma, giving special attention to the various types of grasses\n\nand legumes.\n\n(b) The Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural and\n\nMechanical Colleges and the Experiment Station is authorized and\n\ndirected to make extensive and intensive research to discover\n\ntreatment or agent to immunize and/or to prevent anaplasmosis.\n\nIn order to carry out the purpose and provisions of this\n\nsection, contributions from persons, firms and corporations may be\n\naccepted to carry on research and purchase equipment and materials\n\nfor this needed purpose.
