Stat. tit. 70, § 70-3418","heading":"Agricultural extension work - Farm and home demonstration","body":"agents - Cooperative agreement.\n\nThe Board of Regents for Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical\n\nColleges shall organize and conduct agricultural extension work\n\nunder the direction of Oklahoma State University, and may accept\n\nfederal funds for such purpose and comply with federal laws\n\nproviding for cooperative agricultural extension work as follows:\n\n1. The provisions of an Act of Congress entitled, \"An Act to\n\nprovide for cooperative agricultural extension work between the\n\nagricultural colleges in the several states receiving the benefits\n\nof the Act of Congress approved July 2, 1862, and of Acts\n\nsupplemental thereto, and the United States Department of\n\nAgriculture\", approved by the President May 8, 1914, as amended by\n\nPublic Law 83-83, June 26, 1953, and Public Law 84-360, August 11,\n\n1955, and any other federal authorizations providing federal money\n\nto State Extension Divisions, are hereby accepted by the State of\n\nOklahoma; and the state hereby agrees and obligates itself to comply\n\nwith all the provisions of said Acts and assents to the receipt of\n\ngrants of money authorized by the Acts, paid annually to each state\n\nwhich by the action of its Legislature has assented to the\n\nprovisions of the aforesaid Acts;\n\n2. The Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural and\n\nMechanical Colleges acting for and on behalf of Oklahoma State\n\nUniversity is hereby authorized to receive the grants of money\n\nappropriated under said Acts, and to organize and conduct\n\nagricultural extension work, which shall be carried on in\n\nconnection, and under the direction of Oklahoma State University in\n\naccordance with the terms and conditions expressed in the Acts of\n\nCongress aforesaid, any other Acts supplemental thereto, or any\n\nrules and regulations promulgated under authority granted in the\n\naforesaid federal acts;\n\n3. Subject to approval of the board of county commissioners'\n\nannual estimate of needs by the excise board, the board of county\n\ncommissioners of the respective counties of the state shall contract\n\nand agree with the Department of Agriculture of the United States of\n\nAmerica and Oklahoma State University, or with the authorized agent\n\nor agents of said Department of Agriculture and said University, to\n\ncooperate with the Department of Agriculture and the University in\n\nconducting farm demonstration work and home demonstration work\n\nincluding 4-H club work in their respective counties under such\n\nrules and regulations as may be prescribed jointly by the Department\n\nof Agriculture and Oklahoma State University. Such agreement shall\n\nbe in writing, signed by the members of the board of county\n\ncommissioners and the authorized agent of the United States\n\nDepartment of Agriculture and Oklahoma State University, and may be\n\nentered into at any regular or adjourned session of said board,\n\nafter the 30th day of June of each year. The board of county\n\ncommissioners shall provide an adequate amount in their annual\n\nestimate of needs for the ensuing year to carry out the provisions\n\nof such contract, same to be included in the salary fund and expense\n\nfund to be paid on order of the board of county commissioners to\n\nsuch workers as may be agreed upon between said board of county\n\ncommissioners and the authorized agent of the Department of\n\nAgriculture and the University to carry on said farm demonstration\n\nwork and home demonstration work in said county; and\n\n4. The Extension Division of Oklahoma State University at\n\nStillwater, Oklahoma, is hereby designated the official agency of\n\nthe State of Oklahoma to sponsor, establish, develop and execute a\n\nprogram of artificial insemination for the benefit of the livestock\n\nindustry of the state, and said Extension Division is hereby\n\nauthorized and directed to sponsor and conduct such program.\n\nIn order to carry out the purpose and provisions of this\n\nsection, contributions from persons, firms and corporations may be\nial agency of\n\nthe State of Oklahoma to sponsor, establish, develop and execute a\n\nprogram of artificial insemination for the benefit of the livestock\n\nindustry of the state, and said Extension Division is hereby\n\nauthorized and directed to sponsor and conduct such program.\n\nIn order to carry out the purpose and provisions of this\n\nsection, contributions from persons, firms and corporations may be\n\naccepted to carry on such work, purchase purebred sires, equipment\n\nand materials, and to defray legitimate expenses of every kind and\n\ncharacter connected with such work, including the purchase of land\n\nand the acquisition or construction of capital improvements. Said\n\nExtension Division is hereby expressly granted every power and\n\nauthority reasonably necessary or convenient for the carrying out\n\nand administering the program herein authorized and directed,\n\nincluding the authority to employ trained personnel and to purchase\n\nneeded purebred dairy and other sires, equipment, materials and all\n\nthings necessary, including the purchase of land and the acquisition\n\nor construction of capital improvements, and including the making of\n\nnecessary contracts, within the limits of available funds, to\n\naccomplish the purposes of this section.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7b3b4cdbc7ae47d35c371d80aff4f9cf5421cf82fc8fa09eeca2b78c60990a17","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3417","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3419"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
