There is hereby created the Oklahoma Rural Health Policy and\n\nResearch Center at the Oklahoma State University College of\n\nOsteopathic Medicine.\n\nB. 1. The mission of the Oklahoma Rural Health Policy and\n\nResearch Center shall be to:\n\na. improve rural health care delivery in Oklahoma through\n\nthe coordination of rural medical education,\n\ntelemedicine, research, and health care policy, and\n\nb. establish a process for the following types of\n\nhospitals to request designation as a rural health\n\ncare delivery system through the Oklahoma Rural Health\n\nPolicy and Research Center:\n\n(1) a rural hospital located in a metropolitan\n\nstatistical area, and\n\n(2) a hospital located in an administrative area that\n\nis administratively designated as urban or\n\nnonrural.\n\n2. A hospital located in a metropolitan statistical area or an\n\narea administratively designated as urban or nonrural that requests\n\ndesignation as a rural health care delivery system shall meet at\n\nleast two of the following criteria:\n\na. be located in a county with a population density of\n\nless than two hundred twenty-five (225) persons per\n\nsquare mile of land area,\n\nb. be located in a county with a municipality of twenty-\n\nfive thousand (25,000) persons or fewer, excluding the\n\nmajor city designated as urban or nonrural, or\n\nc. be the only hospital located in a county.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"27a0280e90ac8f2b5e390e3ca76a6de38080370bd070ac9bfc9344f7ed1cbff8","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3424","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3425"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
