Stat. tit. 70, § 70-3427","heading":"Transfer of George Nigh Rehabilitation Institute to","body":"institution of higher education.\n\nA. The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education shall enter\n\ninto an interagency agreement with the Oklahoma Department of\n\nVeterans Affairs for the operation of the George Nigh Rehabilitation\n\nInstitute upon transfer of the Institute as provided for in Section\n\n1 of this act. The agreement shall be effective until the Regents\n\nhave made a determination of and have transferred administration,\n\nproperty, monies, and employees of the George Nigh Rehabilitation\n\nInstitute to the appropriate institution of higher education within\n\nThe Oklahoma State System of Higher Education. During the term of\n\nthe agreement the membership of the employees of the George Nigh\n\nRehabilitation Institute in the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement\n\nSystem shall not change and the Oklahoma Department of Veterans\n\nAffairs shall continue to make contributions pursuant to Section 920\n\nof Title 74 of the Oklahoma Statutes which shall be reimbursed\n\npursuant to the agreement.\n\nB. The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education shall study\n\nand make a determination of which institution of higher education\n\nwithin The Oklahoma State System of Higher Education has an\n\neducational program that best enhances the mission of the George\n\nNigh Rehabilitation Institute. On or before October 1, 1999, the\n\nRegents, at a regular or special meeting, shall make a final\n\ndetermination of the appropriate institution of higher education to\n\ntransfer the administration, property, monies, and employees of\n\nGeorge Nigh Rehabilitation Institute to. The Regents shall notify\n\nthe employees of the Institute of the final determination not less\n\nthan thirty (30) days prior to the actual transfer.\n\nC. On or before November 1, 1999, the Oklahoma State Regents\n\nfor Higher Education shall transfer all rights, administration\n\nproperty, monies, and employees of the George Nigh Rehabilitation\n\nInstitute acquired by the Regents pursuant to Sections 63.18 and\n\n222.1 of Title 72 of the Oklahoma Statues to the appropriate\n\ninstitution of higher education selected pursuant to subsection B of\n\nthis section.\n\nD. It is the intent of the Legislature, that all employees of\n\nthe George Nigh Rehabilitation Institute transferred to an\n\ninstitution of higher education pursuant to this section retain pay\n\nand benefits, as much as possible, including longevity, dependent\n\ninsurance benefits, seniority, rights and other privileges and\n\nbenefits.\n\nE. Upon transfer of the George Nigh Rehabilitation Institute to\n\nan institution of higher education as provided for in this section,\n\nthe rights and responsibilities of the George Nigh Rehabilitation\n\nInstitute Revolving Fund created in Section 222.1 of Title 72 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes shall also be transferred to the institution of\n\nhigher education.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"a4c0353a245cd3f231ccf64ff048555522e680a5ff3693ccec111d255b130efd","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3426","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3428"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
