Stat. tit. 70, § 70-3507","heading":"Board of Regents of Oklahoma Colleges - Appointment and","body":"terms of members - Eligibility - Vacancies.\n\n(a) The Board of Regents of Oklahoma Colleges created by Article\n\nXIII-B, Oklahoma Constitution, shall consist of nine (9) members\n\nappointed by the Governor by and with the consent of the Senate.\n\nProvided, that persons now serving on such Board shall be members of\n\nand shall continue to serve on the Board for the terms for which\n\nthey were appointed. Not more than two members of the Board shall\n\nbe from any one profession, vocation or occupation. Appointments\n\nshall be to numbered positions on the Board, and the terms of\n\nmembers of the Board shall be, as follows:\n\n(1) Position No. 1. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 10th day of June, 1966, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter, and he shall be a resident of one of the following\n\ncounties: Blaine, Kingfisher, Canadian, Caddo, Grady, Comanche,\n\nStephens, Jefferson or Cotton.\n\n(2) Position No. 2. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 10th day of June, 1967, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter, and he shall be a resident of one of the following\n\ncounties: Ottawa, Delaware, Craig, Mayes, Nowata, Rogers,\n\nWashington, Tulsa, Pawnee or Osage.\n\n(3) Position No. 3. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 10th day of June, 1968, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter, and he shall be a resident of one of the following\n\ncounties: Ellis, Dewey, Roger Mills, Custer, Beckham, Washita,\n\nKiowa, Greer, Jackson, Harmon or Tillman.\n\n(4) Position No. 4. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 10th day of June, 1970, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter, and he shall be a resident of one of the following\n\ncounties: Adair, Sequoyah, Cherokee, Wagoner, Muskogee, Haskell,\n\nMcIntosh or Okmulgee.\n\n(5) Position No. 5. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 10th day of June, 1971, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter, and he shall be a resident of one of the following\n\ncounties: Creek, Lincoln, Okfuskee, Seminole, Pottawatomie,\n\nPontotoc, Hughes, Johnston or Coal.\n\n(6) Position No. 6. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 10th day of June, 1972, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter, and he shall be a resident of one of the following\n\ncounties: Cimarron, Texas, Beaver, Harper, Woodward, Woods, Major,\n\nAlfalfa, Grant, Garfield, Kay or Noble.\n\n(7) Position No. 7. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 10th day of June, 1973, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter, and he shall be a resident of one of the following\n\ncounties: LeFlore, Latimer, Pittsburg, Atoka, Pushmataha,\n\nMcCurtain, Choctaw, Bryan, Marshall, Carter or Love.\n\n(8) Position No. 8. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 10th day of June, 1974, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter, and he shall be a resident of one of the following\n\ncounties: Logan, Oklahoma, Cleveland, McClain, Garvin, Murray or\n\nPayne.\n\n(9) Position No. 9. One member shall be the State\n\nSuperintendent of Public Instruction, who shall serve as such member\n\nduring his tenure as State Superintendent of Public Instruction.\n\n(b) The successor of a member of the Board shall be appointed\n\nwithin ninety (90) days after the term of such member expires; and\n\nany vacancy in an appointive position on the Board shall be filled\n\nby the Governor by and with the consent of the Senate for the\n\nunexpired term within ninety (90) days after the vacancy occurs.\n\n(c) No member of the Board shall be employed upon any work to be\n\nperformed in connection with institutions under its jurisdiction,\n\nnor shall any member of said Board enter into any contract or\n\nbusiness transaction involving a financial consideration with\n\ninstitutions under its jurisdiction.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"fbe9c3b0a3dc3f46fc3e625469f3f4af4b0e4e938cf162c624a80d57abfac006","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3506","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3507.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
