Stat. tit. 70, § 70-4420","heading":"Tulsa Community College Technology Center School","body":"District.\n\nA. The territory comprising the County of Tulsa shall be a\n\ntechnology center school district for vocational and/or technical\n\nschools to be known as the Tulsa Community College Technology Center\n\nSchool District; and all laws applicable to other technology center\n\nschool districts shall apply to it, except as hereinafter provided.\n\nThe Board of Regents of the Tulsa Community College shall serve as\n\nthe governing board of education of the district. Programs in\n\npostsecondary vocational and/or technical and/or adult education\n\nshall be offered by the district, subject only to the authority\n\nherein granted to the Tulsa Technology Center School District Board\n\nwhich shall serve as a funding board for the Tulsa Community College\n\nTechnology Center School District. The funding board composed of\n\nthe elected members of the Tulsa Technology Center School District\n\nshall have the sole authority to resolve and determine the\n\nsubmission of a proposed millage or capital improvement bond issue\n\nto a vote of the electorate. Provided, however, that in the event\n\nof a favorable action on any such question submitted resulting in a\n\nlevy for the support of programs to be offered by the Tulsa\n\nCommunity College Technology Center School District, then and in\n\nthat event the funds so voted and derived from such levy shall be\n\nunder the direct supervision and control of the governing board of\n\nthe Tulsa Community College Technology Center School District. All\n\nfunds expended for operations or capital improvements are subject to\n\napproval by the Tulsa Technology Center School District Board. All\n\nsuch funds shall be expended according to rules and procedures\n\nprescribed by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.\n\nB. Not more than five (5) mills on the dollar valuation of the\n\ntaxable property in the district may be voted on and thereafter be\n\nlevied annually under Section 9B, Article X of the Oklahoma\n\nConstitution, for postsecondary vocational and/or technical\n\neducation purposes in the district. Proceeds of such levies shall\n\nbe made a part of the educational and general operating budget of\n\nthe Tulsa Community College and shall be allotted, budgeted and\n\nexpended for supplemental support of the postsecondary vocational\n\nand/or technical and/or adult education programs offered by the\n\ncollege in accordance with rules made by the Oklahoma State Regents\n\nfor Higher Education; provided, however, that the State Regents\n\nshall not take into consideration this local ad valorem tax revenue\n\nfor supplemental support of the district technical education program\n\nwhen allocating state-appropriated funds for support of the basic\n\ncommunity college program.\n\nC. The district may become indebted for not more than two\n\npercent (2%) of the net valuation of taxable property within the\n\ndistrict for capital improvements to provide supplemental\n\naccommodations for postsecondary vocational and technical education\n\nprograms offered at the Tulsa Community College, when such\n\nindebtedness is approved by a majority of the electors of the\n\ntechnology center school district voting on the question in an\n\nelection called for such purpose. Bonds in pursuance thereof shall\n\nbe issued in the same manner as bonds issued by boards of education\n\nof other technology center school districts, and the proceeds of\n\nsuch bonds shall be used for facilities approved by the Oklahoma\n\nState Regents for Higher Education and shall be allocated, expended\n\nand accounted for in accordance with rules of the State Regents.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"1a7a45dff201158dc34557c005527a628669a059c218132bbbafcbddd2d82fd8","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-4419","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-4420.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
