Stat. tit. 70, § 70-4423","heading":"Redlands Community College - Carl Albert State College -","body":"Seminole State College - Rose State College - Oklahoma City\n\nCommunity College.\n\nA. The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education are hereby\n\nauthorized and directed to maintain two-year colleges at El Reno,\n\nwhich shall be known as the Redlands Community College, at Poteau,\n\nwhich shall be known as the Carl Albert State College, at Seminole,\n\nwhich shall be known as the Seminole State College, at Midwest City,\n\nwhich shall be known as the Rose State College, and in South\n\nOklahoma City, which shall be known as the Oklahoma City Community\n\nCollege; and, each of said colleges shall be an integral and full-\n\nfledged part of The Oklahoma State System of Higher Education.\n\nB. Each of the colleges which at the time it became a member of\n\nthe State System was operating a technical area school district\n\nprogram to carry out the function of postsecondary technical\n\neducation for the people of the district shall continue to do so as\n\nthen operated and in accordance with Section 4410 of this title, and\n\nall property acquired by virtue of the technical area school\n\ndistrict operation shall remain as property of the technical area\n\nschool district and be maintained in the custody of the Board of\n\nRegents of the college acting as the governing board of the\n\ntechnical area school district for use by the postsecondary area\n\ndistrict program.\n\nC. For each of the colleges above named and identified, there\n\nshall be created a separate Board of Regents, and said Board of\n\nRegents shall consist of seven (7) members to serve seven-year\n\noverlapping terms, with members of said Board to be appointed by the\n\nGovernor by and with the advice and consent of the State Senate.\n\nEach Board shall have the same powers and duties as the Board of\n\nRegents of Tulsa Community College. Four members of the Board of\n\nRegents for the colleges located at El Reno, Poteau and Seminole\n\nshall be from the county in which said college is located. Four\n\nmembers of the Board of Regents for Rose State College shall be\n\nresidents of the original district of the college. Four members of\n\nthe Board of Regents for Oklahoma City Community College shall be\n\nresidents of South Oklahoma City. For purposes of this section,\n\n“South Oklahoma City” shall mean the original district of Oklahoma\n\nCity Community College and the portion of Oklahoma City that lies in\n\nCleveland County and is bounded on the west by County Line Road and\n\non the east by Bryant Avenue.\n\nWith respect to Rose State College and Oklahoma City Community\n\nCollege, it is further provided that the college and its governing\n\nBoard of Regents shall continue to operate the technical area school\n\ndistrict program to carry out the function of postsecondary\n\ntechnical education for the people of the technical education school\n\ndistrict as now operated, and in accordance with Section 4410 of\n\nthis title.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"fbec24b540db7505c299ea93de56147ed461b20a20ecf26f9309e231de96526d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-4422","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-4423.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
