It is the intent of the Legislature that the Board of\n\nTrustees for Oklahoma State University/Tulsa develop and implement a\n\nTechnology Intern Partner Program. The purpose of the Program shall\n\nbe to facilitate a positive relationship between the academic and\n\nbusiness sector while providing valuable, hands-on experiences for\n\nstudents. In addition the Program will provide an additional method\n\nfor introducing students to career opportunities in technology-based\n\ncompanies.\n\nB. The benefits of the Technology Intern Partner Program are as\n\nfollows:\n\n1. Enhances classroom learning for the student by integrating\n\nacademic curriculum and real-world work experience;\n\n2. Assists students in career decision making through on-the-\n\njob experience in a chosen field;\n\n3. Improves after graduation job opportunities for students by\n\ngiving the student valuable work experience and contact with\n\npotential employers;\n\n4. Teaches students valuable job search skills such as career\n\nassessments, resume writing, and interviewing techniques; and\n\n5. Promotes the lifelong learning process of integrating work\n\nand learning, and enhances workplace skills in occupational,\n\nanalytical, and teamwork performance.\n\nC. It is further the intent of the Legislature that the\n\nTechnology Intern Partner Program shall provide internships for\n\neligible students with technology-based companies. One-half of the\n\nfunding for the internships shall be provided by the University and\n\none-half by the participating companies. The Board of Trustees\n\nshould establish criteria and procedures for implementation and\n\noperation of the Program.
