The governing board of each school district in Oklahoma is\n\nhereby designated and shall hereafter be known as the board of\n\neducation of such district. Except as otherwise provided in this\n\nsection, the superintendent of schools appointed and employed by the\n\nboard shall be the executive officer of the board and shall perform\n\nduties as the board directs.\n\nB. The board may contract with a superintendent for a term as\n\nmutually agreed upon but not to exceed three (3) years beyond the\n\nfiscal year in which the contract is approved by the board and\n\naccepted by the superintendent. The contract shall include all\n\nother terms and conditions as agreed upon in writing by the board\n\nand the superintendent.\n\nC. The boards of two or more school districts may contract with\n\none superintendent to serve as superintendent of the school\n\ndistricts as provided in Section 4 of this act.\n\nD. No board of a school district having average daily\n\nmembership (ADM) of fewer than five hundred (500) pupils shall be\n\nprohibited from allowing a superintendent to serve simultaneously as\n\na principal.\n\nE.
