Stat. tit. 70, § 70-5-116a","heading":"Superintendent and officers – Employment requirement –","body":"Surety bonds.\n\nA. The superintendent and any financial officer of a school\n\ndistrict shall be required to furnish a surety bond in the penal sum\n\nof not less than One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) or an\n\namount otherwise set by law or set by the State Board of Education,\n\nto be approved as provided by law, and to assure the faithful\n\nperformance of the duties of the covered officer and employees.\n\nB. Whenever the superintendent or any officer or other employee\n\nof any school district is required to furnish a surety bond as a\n\nprerequisite to employment as provided for in this section or any\n\nother law, the requirement as to terms, conditions, penalty, amount\n\nor quality or type of surety shall be deemed to mean the furnishing\n\nof a separate bond or surety contract for each individual officer or\n\nemployee, or the furnishing of a \"blanket bond\". For purposes of\n\nthis section, “blanket bond” means a school district officer and\n\nemployees blanket position bond which covers all officers and\n\nemployees up to the penalty of the bond for each officer and\n\nemployee and the full penalty of the bond is always enforced during\n\nits term and no restoration is necessary and there is no additional\n\npremium after a loss is paid.\n\nC. All surety bonds as required by this section or other laws\n\nshall be furnished by a company duly qualified under the insurance\n\nlaws of this state and shall be purchased by the school district.\n\nEach surety bond shall be payable to the school district and,\n\nwhenever possible, conditioned on the faithful performance of the\n\nduties of the individuals covered during their employment or term of\n\noffice and that they will properly account for all monies and\n\nproperty received by virtue of their position or employment.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"df6b57d141ee25837ff79a4f92a089bf26f2d622dbf2daeec2ba05afa00756d0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-5-116","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-5-117"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
