Each local board of education shall, after convening an\n\nadvisory council that includes teachers and parents, and after\n\nholding at least one public hearing, adopt a six-year school\n\nimprovement plan for the district. Each school improvement plan\n\nshall include stated goals that clearly delineate educational\n\nexpectations, and shall be annually monitored and updated as\n\nnecessary. The alternative education plan for the school district\n\nas required in subsection B of Section 1210.566 of this title shall\n\nbe included in the school improvement plan. The plan shall also\n\ninclude a specific program of improvement through academic skill\n\nreinforcement and/or remediation pursuant to the provisions of the\n\nOklahoma School Testing Program Act. The plan shall include an\n\nevaluation of the instructional program in the basic skills areas as\n\nspecified in paragraphs 1 and 2 of subsection A of Section 11-103 of\n\nthis title and specific plans whereby schools within the district\n\nwill initiate the planning process of meeting or exceeding the\n\naccreditation requirements in Section 3-104.4 of this title. The\n\nsix-year school improvement plan shall include a consideration of\n\nthe feasibility of participation in any programs which consist of\n\nstate exemption from educational-related statutes or rules.\n\nB. As set forth in Section 1210.544 of this title, the State\n\nBoard of Education shall establish a process to identify schools in\n\nthe state that are consistently listed as persistently low-achieving\n\nschools in accordance with subsection (g)(6) of Section 1003 of\n\nTitle I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965\n\n(ESEA), as amended. A school district board of education with a\n\nschool identified as being among the persistently lowest-achieving\n\nschools in the state shall, in addition to the requirements set\n\nforth in Section 1210.544 of this title, submit an annual update to\n\nthe school improvement plan to the State Board of Education. The\n\nannual update to the school improvement plan shall be submitted\n\nelectronically.\n\nC. The State Board of Education shall promulgate rules for\n\nmonitoring compliance with the provisions of this section by school\n\ndistricts.\n\nD.
