If in the course of an investigation it is discovered that a\n\nperson charged in an information or indictment with a felony or\n\nviolent misdemeanor is a student or employee of a school district or\n\na public school in the state, or an employee working on school\n\nproperty for an entity that provides services to a school district\n\nor a public school on school property, with due regard for the\n\nprovisions of subsection C of Section 2-6-102 of Title 10A of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes, the district attorney shall notify the\n\nsuperintendent of the district of the charges filed against the\n\nstudent or employee. In addition to notifying the superintendent of\n\nthe district when charges have been filed against an employee of the\n\nschool district, the district attorney shall notify the State Board\n\nof Education.\n\nB. The school district may take any action it deems necessary\n\nthat is in compliance with the requirements of the Family\n\nEducational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 with regard to such\n\ninformation.\n\nC. When an employee of the school district has been convicted,\n\nwhether upon a verdict or plea of guilty or nolo contendere, or\n\nreceived a suspended sentence or any probationary term for a crime\n\nprovided for in subparagraph a of paragraph 6 of Section 3-104 of\n\nthis title, the district court shall notify the State Board of\n\nEducation of said conviction, if the district court has discovered\n\nduring the course of the proceedings that the person is an employee\n\nof a school district.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ac6fc78f4aa9c1cdd4a48381e52b138ead6fcaca8fe3d29a75379bc61ff76800","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-5-142","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-5-145"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
