Stat. tit. 70, § 70-5-189","heading":"Second or duplicate check or warrant – Stop payment or","body":"affidavit.\n\nA school district may issue a second or duplicate check or\n\nwarrant in lieu of any check or warrant that has been issued and\n\nsubsequently lost or destroyed. No second or duplicate check or\n\nwarrant shall be issued until the school district has stopped\n\npayment on said item by the payor bank or, in the alternative, until\n\nan affidavit setting forth the facts as to the loss or destruction\n\nof the original check or warrant has been received by the school\n\ndistrict from the payee, which affidavit may be received by\n\nfacsimile transmission.
