Stat. tit. 70, § 70-6-101.24","heading":"Poor performance or conduct of teacher -","body":"Administrator's duties and responsibilities - Compliance with act\n\nrequired.\n\nA. Upon full implementation of the Oklahoma Teacher and Leader\n\nEffectiveness Evaluation System (TLE) as set forth in Section 6-\n\n101.10 of this title, when a teacher receives a rating as measured\n\npursuant to the TLE as set forth in Section 6-101.16 of this title\n\nthat may lead to a recommendation for the dismissal or\n\nnonreemployment of the teacher or when an administrator identifies\n\npoor performance or conduct that the administrator believes may lead\n\nto a recommendation for the dismissal or nonreemployment of the\n\nteacher, the administrator shall:\n\n1. Admonish the teacher, in writing, and make a reasonable\n\neffort to assist the teacher in correcting the poor performance or\n\nconduct; and\n\n2. Establish a reasonable time for improvement, not to exceed\n\ntwo (2) months, taking into consideration the rating on the\n\nevaluation or the nature and gravity of the performance or conduct.\n\nB. If the teacher does not correct the poor performance or\n\nconduct cited in the admonition within the time specified, the\n\nadministrator shall make a recommendation to the superintendent of\n\nthe school district for the dismissal or nonreemployment of the\n\nteacher.\n\nC. Whenever a member of the board of education, superintendent,\n\nor other administrator identifies poor performance or conduct that\n\nmay lead to a recommendation for dismissal or nonreemployment of a\n\nteacher within the district, the administrator who has\n\nresponsibility for evaluation of the teacher shall be informed, and\n\nthat administrator shall comply with the procedures set forth in\n\nthis section. If the administrator fails or refuses to admonish the\n\nteacher within ten (10) days after being so informed by the board,\n\nsuperintendent, or other administrator, such board, superintendent\n\nor other administrator shall admonish the teacher pursuant to the\n\nprovisions of this section.\n\nD. Repeated negligence in performance of duty, willful neglect\n\nof duty, incompetency, instructional ineffectiveness or\n\nunsatisfactory teaching performance, for a career teacher, or any\n\ncause related to inadequate teaching performance for a probationary\n\nteacher, shall not be a basis for a recommendation to dismiss or not\n\nreemploy a teacher unless and until the provisions of this section\n\nhave been complied with.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"52bec50fd67daaa5da3a93fb395d27282876e0d5931a0a96591d2ffd8ef8fcb8","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-6-101.23","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-6-101.25"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
