Stat. tit. 70, § 70-6-101.40","heading":"Suspension, demotion, termination or nonreemployment","body":"for cause of support employee.\n\nA support employee who has been employed by a local board of\n\neducation for more than one (1) year shall be subject to suspension,\n\ndemotion, termination or nonreemployment only for cause, as\n\ndesignated by the policy of the local board of education, adopted as\n\nprovided in Section 6-101.43 of this title. This section shall not\n\nbe construed to prevent layoffs for lack of funds or work. For\n\npurposes of this act, \"support employee\" means a full-time employee\n\nof a school district as determined by the standard period of labor\n\nwhich is customarily understood to constitute full-time employment\n\nfor the type of services performed by the employee who is employed a\n\nminimum of one hundred seventy-two (172) days and who provides those\n\nservices, not performed by professional educators or certified\n\nteachers, which are necessary for the efficient and satisfactory\n\nfunctioning of a school district and shall not include adult\n\neducation instructors or adult coordinators employed by technology\n\ncenter school districts.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"18e2b2b7b47297e9ab0a58667b7bff26dbb96df857d289f85d76dd3cc2194877","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-6-101.4","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-6-101.41"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
