Stat. tit. 70, § 70-6-101.6b","heading":"Prohibiting disciplinary action against teachers or","body":"support employees for reporting violations of law.\n\nA. For purposes of this section:\n\n1. \"Teacher\" means the term as defined in paragraph 1 of\n\nSection 1-116 of this title; and\n\n2. \"Support employee\" means the term as defined in paragraph 9\n\nof Section 1-116 of this title.\n\nB. No school district shall prohibit or take disciplinary\n\naction against teachers or support employees for:\n\n1. Disclosing public information to correct what the teacher or\n\nsupport employee reasonably believes evidences a violation of the\n\nOklahoma Constitution or law or a rule promulgated pursuant to law;\n\n2. Reporting a violation of the Oklahoma Constitution or state\n\nor federal law; or\n\n3. Taking any of the above actions without giving prior notice\n\nto the teacher's or support employee's supervisor or anyone else in\n\nthe relevant chain of command.\n\nC. For the purposes of this section, \"reporting\" means\n\nproviding a spoken or written account to a supervising teacher,\n\nadministrator, school board member, representative from the State\n\nDepartment of Education, law enforcement official, district\n\nattorney, and/or parent or legal guardian of a student directly\n\nimpacted by the actions.\n\nD. Each school district shall prominently post or publish a\n\ncopy of this section of law in locations where it can reasonably be\n\nexpected to come to the attention of all teachers and support\n\nemployees.\n\nE.
