Except for employment of a director of a public\n\ndevelopmental research school as authorized in Section 1210.577 of\n\nthis title and except as provided for in Section 6-101 of this\n\ntitle, it shall be unlawful for a member of the board of education\n\nof a school district to employ, approve or vote for the employment\n\nof any person to perform services for the district unless the person\n\nemployed holds a valid certificate of qualification issued in\n\naccordance with the rules of the State Board of Education to perform\n\nthe services the person is employed to perform.\n\nB.
