The State Department of Education in coordination with the\n\nCommission for Educational Quality and Accountability shall\n\nestablish a micro-credential program within one hundred twenty (120)\n\ndays after the effective date of this act for the purpose of\n\npermitting any teacher candidate or teacher who holds a certificate\n\nto teach to complete additional coursework and earn micro-\n\ncredentials in science, technology, engineering and mathematics\n\n(STEM) endorsement areas including computer science.\n\nB. The State Department of Education and the Commission for\n\nEducational Quality and Accountability shall convene a working group\n\nincluding pertinent education stakeholders to determine how any\n\nmicro-credential awarded pursuant to any micro-credential program\n\nestablished pursuant to subsection A of this section will be used\n\nand such uses shall include:\n\n1. To award add-on endorsements to teachers in STEM endorsement\n\nareas including computer science;\n\n2. In lieu of the subject area competency examination required\n\nby Section 6-187 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes; and\n\n3. To meet the professional development program requirements\n\nestablished in Section 6-194 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nC.
