A student may be eligible to apply for and be granted a\n\nscholarship under the community and state matching program when the\n\nfollowing conditions are met:\n\n1. That the student desires a scholarship to cover the costs\n\nand expenses of pursuing the degree of Doctor of Medicine or the\n\ndegree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at any accredited school of\n\nmedicine or school of osteopathic medicine in the United States of\n\nAmerica;\n\n2. That the student is a bona fide resident of the State of\n\nOklahoma;\n\n3. That the student desires and agrees to practice his\n\nprofession in the community in Oklahoma providing the initial funds\n\nand subject to the terms and conditions of the contract between the\n\nstudent and the community and the contract between the student and\n\nthe state;\n\n4. That the student is a person of good moral character;\n\n5. That the student has a capacity to profit by the course of\n\nstudy for which he seeks aid;\n\n6. That the student has successfully completed the program of\n\ninstruction prerequisite for admission to or continuation in the\n\nprogram of study provided for in this act and has applied and been\n\naccepted or is currently a student at an accredited school of\n\nmedicine or school of osteopathic medicine;\n\n7. That the personal financial resources of the student are\n\nsuch that he can demonstrate need for assistance to pursue\n\nsuccessfully the course of study in which he is engaged; and\n\n8. That the student submits proof that he has not accepted or\n\nwill not accept any other scholarship assistance which has a\n\nconflicting service obligation requirement.\n\nIn determining an applicant student's capacity to profit by the\n\ncourse of study he desires to pursue, the Commission shall consider\n\nhis previous scholastic record, the results of examinations\n\nconducted under the provisions of this act, and the results of\n\ninterviews and such other tests or examinations which the Commission\n\nmay deem advisable.\n\nIn establishing an applicant student's financial need, the\n\nCommission shall conduct a thorough and complete investigation of\n\nthe financial resources of the applicant and his family.\n\nB. The method of payment of funds to each student participating\n\nin the scholarship program shall be in accordance with rules\n\nformulated by the Commission governing the grants for each type of\n\nscholarship involved.\n\nC. Each scholarship shall be renegotiated annually by the\n\nCommission to determine if a change has occurred in the ability of\n\nthe community to match funds at the agreed level or if a change has\n\noccurred in the student's financial need or desire to practice in\n\nthe community providing the initial funds. Each scholarship may be\n\nrenewed annually for the number of years required to complete the\n\ncourse of study in which the recipient is engaged.
