There is hereby established the Nursing Student Assistance\n\nProgram which shall be administered by the Health Care Workforce\n\nTraining Commission. The purpose of the program shall be to\n\nencourage persons to enter nursing education programs and to\n\npractice in areas of this state in which there is an urgent need for\n\nnursing services or in institutions or agencies of this state which\n\nprovide funds on a matching basis with the Health Care Workforce\n\nTraining Commission for the support of nursing students. The\n\nNursing Student Assistance Program shall be administered by rules\n\nadopted by the Health Care Workforce Training Commission.\n\nB. Only students who are residents of this state shall be\n\neligible to participate in the Nursing Student Assistance Program.\n\nC. If a person receiving Nursing Student Assistance Program\n\nfunds fails to fully comply with the provisions of the contract for\n\nthe funds, the person shall refund to the Health Care Workforce\n\nTraining Commission all monies received by the person pursuant to\n\nthe provisions of the contract plus a one-time liquidated damages\n\nassessment of five percent (5%) of the total amount dispersed to the\n\nperson in lieu of interest. The Commission shall prorate the amount\n\nto be repaid in the event the obligation was partially fulfilled.\n\nD. There is hereby created in the State Treasury a revolving\n\nfund for the Health Care Workforce Training Commission to be\n\ndesignated the \"Nursing Student Assistance Fund\". The fund shall be\n\na continuing fund, not subject to fiscal year limitations, and shall\n\nconsist of all nonappropriated monies, including community match\n\nmoney of appropriated funds, grants, gifts, and repayment of\n\nscholarships received by the Health Care Workforce Training\n\nCommission. All monies accruing to the credit of the fund are\n\nhereby appropriated and may be budgeted and expended by the Health\n\nCare Workforce Training Commission for such scholarships as may be\n\nprovided for pursuant to the Nursing Student Assistance Program.\n\nExpenditures from the fund shall be made upon warrants issued by the\n\nState Treasurer against claims filed as prescribed by law with the\n\nDirector of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services for\n\napproval and payment.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"75950043fc5611ee79b05afe785debc5596009a52b304a73b7a2a491d4eaa464","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-697.16","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-697.18"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
