Stat. tit. 70, § 70-697.21","heading":"Physician Assistant Scholarship Program – Revolving","body":"fund.\n\nA. There is hereby established the Physician Assistant\n\nScholarship Program. The purpose of the program is to encourage\n\npersons to enter physician assistant education programs and to\n\npractice in rural and medically underserved areas of this state.\n\nThe Physician Assistant Scholarship Program shall be administered by\n\nthe Health Care Workforce Training Commission pursuant to rules\n\npromulgated by the Commission and shall be funded based on an annual\n\nestimate of need as determined by the Commission. Awards made\n\npursuant to this Program shall be subject to the availability of\n\nfunds. The number of and amount of each award shall be determined\n\nby the Commission based on the availability of funds.\n\nB. Only students who have been admitted as a student in an\n\naccredited physician assistant program shall be eligible to\n\nparticipate in the Physician Assistant Scholarship Program.\n\nC. If a person receiving Physician Assistant Scholarship\n\nProgram monies fails to fully comply with the provisions of the\n\ncontract for the monies, the person shall refund to the Health Care\n\nWorkforce Training Commission all monies received by the person\n\npursuant to the provisions of the contract plus interest at a rate\n\nthat equals the prime interest rate plus one percent (1%) from the\n\ndate of disbursement of the funds and shall be liable for any other\n\nliquidated damages as specified in the contract.\n\nD. There is hereby created in the State Treasury a revolving\n\nfund for the Health Care Workforce Training Commission to be\n\ndesignated the \"Physician Assistant Scholarship Fund\". The fund\n\nshall be a continuing fund, not subject to fiscal year limitations,\n\nand shall consist of all monies received by the Health Care\n\nWorkforce Training Commission for implementation of the Physician\n\nAssistant Scholarship Program. All monies accruing to the credit of\n\nthe fund are hereby appropriated and may be budgeted and expended by\n\nthe Health Care Workforce Training Commission for such scholarships\n\nas may be provided for pursuant to the Physician Assistant\n\nScholarship Program.
