The Oklahoma Health Care Authority shall, in consultation\n\nwith the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine\n\nand the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, designate\n\neligible hospitals for the creation of new residency training\n\nprograms to serve medically underserved areas.\n\nB. The Oklahoma Health Care Authority is authorized to contract\n\nwith the Oklahoma State University of Osteopathic Medicine and the\n\nUniversity of Oklahoma College of Medicine to provide funding for\n\nthe establishment of new residency training programs created under\n\nthe Oklahoma Hospital Residency Training Program Act.\n\nC. The Oklahoma Health Care Authority shall, with the\n\nassistance of the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic\n\nMedicine and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, provide\n\ntechnical assistance and funding for the colleges' costs incurred in\n\nsupporting the programs to ensure that residency training programs\n\nestablished pursuant to the Oklahoma Hospital Residency Training\n\nProgram Act become funded by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare\n\nServices. Any student who is a resident of this state or who is in\n\ngood academic standing with an accredited medical college in this\n\nstate shall receive priority consideration in the process of\n\nassigning clinical rotations at a health care facility that accepts\n\nstate funding. For purposes of this section, \"resident\" means an\n\nindividual who resided in this state at the time of graduation from\n\nan Oklahoma high school.\n\nD. The Oklahoma Health Care Authority shall establish reporting\n\nmechanisms for eligible hospitals for the monitoring of progress of\n\nthe new residency training programs.\n\nE. The Oklahoma Health Care Authority shall present a report on\n\nthe operation of the Oklahoma Hospital Residency Training Program to\n\nthe Governor, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and the\n\nSpeaker of the House of Representatives within one (1) month of the\n\nbeginning of each regular session of the Legislature which shall\n\ninclude, but shall not be limited to, information on the progress\n\nmade in implementing the Oklahoma Hospital Residency Training\n\nProgram Act.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"42664b65f44dd020ed0567770db696b7e1596054282c8031ee03b46643754484","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-697.24","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-697.26"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
