Stat. tit. 70, § 70-7-107","heading":"Disposition of property","body":"Once a school district has voted to dispense with grades one\n\nthrough eight or one through twelve, it shall be illegal for the\n\nboard of education of such district to sell, exchange, trade, junk,\n\nsalvage, or otherwise dispose of any furniture, equipment, land,\n\nbuildings, or other such assets belonging to the school district\n\nunless such sale, exchange, trade or disposal is made to, and only\n\nto, another public school district in the State of Oklahoma. It\n\nshall also be illegal for the board of education to expend the\n\nschool district's funds for any purpose after the end of the fiscal\n\nyear in which grades one through eight or one through twelve have\n\nbeen dispensed with except in payment of legal transfer fees, bond\n\nand property insurance premiums, utilities, salary of the clerk of\n\nthe board of education, audit expenses, and the expenses necessary\n\nfor the preservation and maintenance of school property; provided,\n\nthat a board or boards of education receiving the annexed district\n\nshall have one (1) year after annexation to sell or convey the title\n\nof land and buildings to a nonprofit corporation to be used for\n\ncommunity purposes after the same has been approved by a majority of\n\nthe electors of the annexed district, present and voting, at an\n\nelection called for such purpose; provided, that when such use\n\nceases, the title to said land and buildings shall be vested in the\n\nreceiving district or districts which shall be evidenced by\n\nresolution of the annexed district.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d48db5aa8be9facdb65040b7793f7a7304d2486c8a4a85b5c3203ea08a4ea83d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-7-106","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-7-108"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
