The Adult Literacy Services Advisory Committee shall be\n\ncomposed of fifteen (15) members:\n\n1. The Governor shall appoint two members who are executives of\n\nbusiness or industry;\n\n2. The Speaker of the House of Representatives shall appoint\n\none member to serve as cochair of the Committee who is a member of\n\nthe House of Representatives and one member who is a volunteer of a\n\nlocal literacy program;\n\n3. The President Pro Tempore of the Senate shall appoint one\n\nmember to serve as cochair of the Committee who is a member of the\n\nSenate and one member who is a volunteer of a local literacy\n\nprogram;\n\n4. The State Superintendent of Public Instruction shall appoint\n\ntwo members who work with a local adult basic education program and\n\none member who is employed in the Lifelong Learning Section of the\n\nState Department of Education;\n\n5. The Director of the Oklahoma Department of Libraries shall\n\nappoint one member who is employed in the Literacy Resource Office\n\nof the Department of Libraries;\n\n6. The Executive Director of the Oklahoma Educational\n\nTelevision Authority shall appoint one member;\n\n7. The Director of the Center for the Study of Literacy at\n\nNortheastern State University shall appoint one member;\n\n8. The Director of the Oklahoma Department of Career and\n\nTechnology Education shall appoint one member who is employed by the\n\nOklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education and who works\n\nin adult education;\n\n9. The Director of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services\n\nshall appoint one member who is employed by the Department and is\n\nknowledgeable about adult literacy and education needs; and\n\n10. One member who serves as President of the Oklahoma Literacy\n\nCoalition, Incorporated.\n\nB. The Committee cochairs shall convene an organizational\n\nmeeting no later than August 31, 2000, at which time the Committee\n\nmay adopt rules governing its operation and elect other officers to\n\nserve the Committee. The presence of seven members of the Committee\n\nshall constitute a quorum.\n\nC. Appointed members shall serve at the pleasure of the\n\nappointing authority.\n\nD. Nonlegislative members of the Committee shall be reimbursed\n\nby the appointing authority for travel expenses incurred in the\n\nperformance of their duties pursuant to the State Travel\n\nReimbursement Act.\n\nE.
