Stat. tit. 70, § 70-820.22","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Student Athlete Name, Image and Likeness Rights\n\nAct:\n\n1. “Athletic grant-in-aid” shall have the meaning provided by\n\nthe applicable collegiate athletic association as aid related to the\n\nstudent athlete’s participation in an intercollegiate sport for a\n\npostsecondary institution. Athletic grant-in-aid shall not include\n\ncompensation for the use of the student-athlete’s name, image, or\n\nlikeness rights or athletic reputation;\n\n2. “Collegiate athletic association” means any athletic\n\nassociation, conference, or other group or organization with\n\nauthority over intercollegiate sports including but not limited to\n\nthe National Collegiate Athletic Association;\n\n3. “Postsecondary institution” means any state educational\n\ninstitution or private educational institution as defined in Section\n\n3102 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes;\n\n4. “Professional representation” includes but is not limited to\n\nrepresentation by any individual or entity engaged by a student\n\nathlete for the purpose of securing compensation or benefits for a\n\nstudent athlete’s name, image, or likeness activities. Any\n\nindividual or entity engaged for such purpose shall be a fiduciary\n\nfor the represented student athlete;\n\n5. “Student athlete” shall have the same meaning as defined in\n\nthe Revised Uniform Athlete Agents Act; and\n\n6. “Team activities” means student athlete participation in\n\ncountable athletically related activities and required athletic\n\nactivities as defined by the collegiate athletic association or as\n\notherwise defined by the postsecondary institution.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"cb93a8d585b85b8daf451de9a95cc2139a1558532668e69e256c4e12d3b9cde8","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-820.21","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-820.23"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
