Stat. tit. 72, § 72-165","heading":"Union Soldiers Cemetery – Certification as State Veterans","body":"Cemetery – Transfer to Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs.\n\nThe veterans cemetery known historically as the Union Soldiers\n\nCemetery located on the corner of Northeast 36th Street and Martin\n\nLuther King Avenue in Oklahoma City shall remain under the\n\nsupervision and care of the Adjutant General of the State of\n\nOklahoma until such time as the executive director of the Oklahoma\n\nDepartment of Veterans Affairs certifies to the Oklahoma Veterans\n\nCommission receipt of such funds and clear title to property as are\n\nnecessary to meet the standards established by the United States\n\nDepartment of Veterans Affairs to designate the property as a State\n\nVeterans Cemetery. The title to all property, real and personal\n\nincluded in and with the Union Soldiers Cemetery owned by the\n\nMilitary Department of the State of Oklahoma, being a tract of land\n\nin the Northwest Quarter of Section 24, Township 12 North, Range 3\n\nWest of the Indian Meridian, Oklahoma County, being more\n\nparticularly described as: beginning at the northwest corner of the\n\nNorthwest Quarter; thence North 89°30'53\" East, along the north line\n\nof the Northwest Quarter, a distance of 510.00 feet; thence South\n\n00\"13'08\" East, parallel with the west line of the Northwest\n\nQuarter, a distance of 280.00 feet; thence South 89\"30'53\" West,\n\nparallel with the north line of the Northwest Quarter, a distance of\n\n510.00 feet to the west line of the Northwest Quarter; thence North\n\n00°13'08\" West, along the west line of the Northwest Quarter, a\n\ndistance of 280.00 feet to the point of beginning, containing an\n\narea of 142,799 square feet or 3.2782 acres, more or less, shall be\n\ntransferred to the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs within\n\nninety (90) days after the certification provided for in this\n\nsection is executed by the Executive Director.","path":["OK Code","Title 72"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os72.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e7577b2452bf5be77922ba49a0ea8a9da650035afa2ed996a2b420c4e6f5c432","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-72-72-126.18","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-72-72-191"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
