Stat. tit. 72, § 72-225","heading":"Duties and powers","body":"The Oklahoma Veterans Commission, in addition to its other\n\npowers and duties as herein provided, shall have the following\n\nspecific powers and duties which shall, however, not be deemed to be\n\nexclusive: (a) To make necessary rules and regulations not\n\ninconsistent with Section 221 et seq. of this title for the\n\noperation of the institutions. (b) To rule upon eligibility of\n\napplicant and requirements for admission to the institution. (c) To\n\nappoint all administrative personnel and provide for the employment\n\nof all such other personnel as may be necessary to carry out the\n\nprovisions of Section 221 et seq. of this title and any other duties\n\nas may be prescribed by law. The salaries and tenure of office of\n\nall personnel shall be determined by the Commission. (d) To approve\n\nor disapprove all claims or expenditures from such appropriations as\n\nmay be made to the Commission prior to the payment thereof, except\n\nas may be otherwise provided by law. (e) To enter into agreement or\n\ncontract with the Director of Mental Health and Substance Abuse\n\nServices, or other departments of the State of Oklahoma, to provide\n\nnecessary services to carry out the provisions of Section 221 et\n\nseq. of this title. (f) To enter into agreement or contract with\n\nthe Veterans Administration, or other appropriate federal agency now\n\nin existence or hereafter created, to provide necessary services to\n\ncarry out the provisions of this act; including but not limited to,\n\nagreements by which the federal government contributes funds for the\n\nconstruction of buildings in whole or in part. (g) To contract, as\n\nherein provided or as otherwise provided by law, to remodel,\n\nconstruct, repair, build additions, modernize or add improvements\n\nnecessary for hospitalization and domiciliary care of veteran\n\npatients, members, or employee housing, using funds available by\n\nlaw. (h) To expend necessary sums from funds provided by law, to\n\nprovide architectural plans, specifications, costs or other\n\ninformation required by the Administrator of Veterans Affairs, or\n\nother appropriate federal agency, as basis of application for\n\napproval to receive federal grant of funds to remodel, repair,\n\nconstruct, build additions, modernize, or added improvements of\n\ndomiciliary or hospital buildings necessary for the care of\n\nveterans, including tuberculosis, mentally ill, and neuro-\n\npsychiatric, but not excluding others.","path":["OK Code","Title 72"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os72.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"a0b88b5d1c61ad38de04c4bf7c2e3cb527e3da76972da02e9157a5cdc3ee1eae","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-72-72-223.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-72-72-226"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
