The Department of Veterans Affairs is authorized to\n\nconstruct, establish, administer, operate and maintain a State\n\nVeterans' Cemetery System. The State Veterans' Cemetery System\n\nshall consist of one or more cemeteries to serve veterans, spouses\n\nand eligible dependents of veterans of the State of Oklahoma.\n\nB. The Department may:\n\n1. Employ staff to operate the cemetery system;\n\n2. Purchase equipment and supplies necessary for the operation\n\nand support of the cemetery system; and\n\n3. Charge a fee for each interment of an eligible spouse or\n\ndependent of a veteran.\n\nC. The Department shall:\n\n1. Promulgate appropriate guidelines, rules, or regulations for\n\ndetermining eligibility for burial, instituting standards for the\n\ncemeteries, and setting burial charges to be assessed for the burial\n\nof spouses and eligible dependents;\n\n2. Develop plans and programs which will provide for initial\n\nestablishment of sites to meet the greatest need and provide for\n\ntheir orderly expansion;\n\n3. Establish accounts as are necessary to the orderly\n\nadministration of the cemetery system;\n\n4. Make applications to federal agencies such as the United\n\nStates Department of Veterans Affairs and receive federal funding as\n\nis available to establish, construct, operate and maintain this\n\ncemetery system; and\n\n5. Accept donations of real or personal property for the\n\nconstruction, establishment, operation and maintenance of the State\n\nVeterans' Cemetery System.\n\nD. The Department may seek, accept and expend private, state\n\nand federal funds for the establishment, construction, maintenance,\n\nadministration and operation of the cemetery system as provided in\n\nthis section.
