There is hereby created a body corporate and politic to be\n\nknown as the \"Oklahoma Capitol Improvement Authority\" and by that\n\nname the Authority may sue and be sued and plead and be impleaded.\n\nThe Authority is hereby constituted an instrumentality of the state\n\nand the exercise by the Authority of the powers conferred by\n\nSections 151 through 214 of this title, in the construction,\n\nequipping, operation, and maintenance of the state building or\n\nbuildings hereinafter referred to as the \"building\", and in the\n\nconstruction, improvement, repair, and maintenance of the highway\n\ninfrastructure in this state, shall be deemed and shall be held to\n\nbe an essential governmental function of the state.\n\nB. The Authority shall consist of eight (8) members, including\n\nthe Governor of the state, who shall be Chairman of the Authority,\n\nthe State Treasurer, the Lieutenant Governor, who shall be Vice\n\nChairman of the Authority, the Director of Central Services, the\n\nDirector of Human Services, the Secretary-Member of the Oklahoma Tax\n\nCommission, the Director of the Oklahoma Department of Tourism and\n\nRecreation, and the Director of Oklahoma Department of\n\nTransportation.\n\nC. The Authority shall elect one of its members as Secretary.\n\nFour members of the Authority shall constitute a quorum and the vote\n\nof four members shall be necessary for any action taken by the\n\nAuthority. No vacancy in the membership of the Authority shall\n\nimpair the rights of a quorum to exercise and perform all of the\n\nrights and duties of the Authority. The members of the Authority\n\nshall not be entitled to compensation for their services, but each\n\nmember shall be reimbursed for actual expenses necessarily incurred\n\nin the performance of official duties.\n\nD. Before the issuance of any revenue bonds pursuant to the\n\nprovisions of Sections 151 through 214 of this title, each member of\n\nthe Authority shall execute a surety bond in the sum of Twenty-five\n\nThousand Dollars ($25,000.00), each such bond to be conditioned upon\n\nthe faithful performance of the duties of the office, as such\n\nmember, to be executed by a surety company authorized to transact\n\nbusiness in the State of Oklahoma, as surety, and to be approved by\n\nthe Governor and filed in the office of the Secretary of State.","path":["OK Code","Title 73"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os73.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"f5c07852dfb78a6d7f9c0a6101d13faf3b0dbc09b589fc6030b06cda6bc0b1d4","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-73-73-151","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-73-73-153"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
