Stat. tit. 73, § 73-168","heading":"Acquisition of land and erection of buildings for","body":"specified state agencies.\n\nThe Oklahoma Capitol Improvement Authority is hereby authorized\n\nand directed to plan, acquire land for and erect, operate and\n\nmaintain buildings for the use of the following state agencies, and\n\nto borrow money on the credit of the income and revenues to be\n\nderived from such projects in the amounts indicated for each such\n\nproject and, in anticipation of the collection of such income and\n\nrevenues, to issue negotiable bonds not to exceed the amounts\n\nindicated for each such project or so much of each indicated amount\n\nas may, in the opinion of the Authority, be necessary for such\n\npurpose:\n\n(a) For the State Department of Highways, the sum of Seven\n\nMillion Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($7,500,000.00) to be used\n\n(1) first, to acquire all of the land which is bounded by\n\nLincoln Boulevard on the east, Northeast Twenty-first Street on the\n\nnorth, Walnut Avenue on the west and the alley north of Northeast\n\nSixteenth Street on the south which is not now owned by the State of\n\nOklahoma or its agencies or the City of Oklahoma City, and\n\n(2) second, to plan and erect thereon a building or buildings\n\nfor the use of the State Department of Highways with appropriate\n\nimprovements for utilities, parking and access to serve such\n\nbuilding or buildings.\n\n(b) For the State Department of Education primarily, and\n\nsecondarily for those agencies related to education including but\n\nnot limited to the School Land Commission, the Teachers' Retirement\n\nSystem, etc., the sum of Four Million Dollars ($4,000,000.00) to be\n\nused\n\n(1) first, to acquire all of the land which is bounded by\n\nLincoln Boulevard on the east, Northeast Twenty-sixth Street on the\n\nnorth, Stiles Avenue on the west and Northeast Twenty-fourth Street\n\non the south which is not now owned by the State of Oklahoma or its\n\nagencies or the City of Oklahoma City, and\n\n(2) second, to plan and erect thereon a building for the use\n\nprimarily of the State Department of Education and secondarily for\n\nthe use of such other agencies related to education including but\n\nnot limited to those named above as may in the opinion of the\n\nAuthority be appropriate, desirable and feasible, with appropriate\n\nimprovements for utilities, parking and access to serve such\n\nbuilding.\n\n(c) For the Oklahoma Tax Commission the sum of Four Million\n\nDollars ($4,000,000.00) to be used\n\n(1) first, to acquire all of the land which is bounded by\n\nLincoln Boulevard on the west, Northeast Twenty-sixth Street on the\n\nnorth, Lindsay Avenue on the east and Northeast Twenty-fourth Street\n\non the south which is not now owned by the State of Oklahoma or its\n\nagencies or the City of Oklahoma City, and\n\n(2) second, to plan and erect thereon a building for the use of\n\nthe Oklahoma Tax Commission with appropriate improvements for\n\nutilities, parking and access to serve such building.\n\n(d) For the planning of and the remodeling and renovation of the\n\nJim Thorpe Office Building and the State Capitol Building, including\n\nequipment, the sum of Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00).\n\n(e) The Authority may, in its discretion, exchange the locations\n\nof the buildings described in (b) and (c) above.","path":["OK Code","Title 73"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os73.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"4854d3038850da3dbec923d411ae461352503f0ef6c155091a915ce41ffbc96d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-73-73-167","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-73-73-168.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
