Stat. tit. 73, § 73-96","heading":"Regulation and enforcement","body":"\n\nThe Director of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services\n\nis hereby authorized to regulate parking of vehicles on the streets\n\nin the vicinity of the State Capitol, the state office building, the\n\nState Historical Building, the State Armory, and other public\n\nbuildings on the State Capitol grounds. Copies of such regulations,\n\nincluding amendments thereto, shall be filed in the Office of the\n\nSecretary of State and in the office of the city clerk of the City\n\nof Oklahoma City, and copies thereof shall be transmitted to each\n\nofficer, board or commission having offices in said buildings. A\n\nreasonable amount of parking space shall be reserved on the streets\n\nimmediately adjacent to each of said buildings for citizens, not\n\nofficers or employees of the state, having business to transact in\n\nsuch buildings. Parking space on the streets and on the public\n\ngrounds may also be reserved for officers and employees. Such\n\nregulations may provide for diagonal or parallel parking of\n\nvehicles, the time limit for parking in spaces reserved, when such\n\nregulations shall be applicable, the placing of appropriate signs\n\nand other markings as to the availability of parking space, the\n\nissuance of appropriate stickers identifying vehicles, reservation\n\nof space for bus stops, and such other reasonable regulations as are\n\ndeemed necessary to an orderly system to prevent congestion of\n\ntraffic and the abuse of parking privileges on said streets. The\n\nAttorney General shall assist the Director of the Office of\n\nManagement and Enterprise Services in the preparation of said\n\nregulations. Such regulations shall be enforced by the Highway\n\nPatrol Division of the Department of Public Safety and by the police\n\nof the City of Oklahoma City or other peace officers. The authority\n\nof the City of Oklahoma City to regulate parking on the streets in\n\nthe vicinity of the above referred to buildings is hereby withdrawn,\n\nand the Director of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services\n\nand the city manager of the City of Oklahoma City shall cooperate to\n\nthe extent necessary in specifically defining the boundary or\n\nterritorial limits of the respective jurisdictions in respect to the\n\nsubject matter of this section and Section 97 of this title.","path":["OK Code","Title 73"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os73.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"34194ee3232a0907cc43caf0d9ba5dd74b40c58e257cef3ea8e37834f97431d8","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-73-73-92","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-73-73-97"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
