The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation shall coordinate\n\nwith the United States Attorney's Office and the United States\n\nDepartment of Justice to coordinate efforts and gather data to\n\naddress the issue of missing and murdered indigenous persons in the\n\nState of Oklahoma.\n\nB. The Bureau shall create an Office of Liaison for Missing and\n\nMurdered Indigenous Persons. Any individual hired within the Office\n\nshall have significant experience working with tribal communities.\n\nSubject to available funding, the Office shall include a missing\n\npersons specialist.\n\nC. The Office of Liaison for Missing and Murdered Indigenous\n\nPersons shall:\n\n1. Work with state, tribal and federal law enforcement agencies\n\non missing persons and homicide cases involving American Indian\n\nindividuals;\n\n2. Develop a best practices protocol for law enforcement\n\nresponse to missing persons reports involving American Indian\n\nindividuals;\n\n3. Assist families, tribal agencies and nongovernmental\n\nentities in using the National Missing and Unidentified Persons\n\nSystem (NamUs) and other resources;\n\n4. Provide guidance to victims' families with navigating state\n\nand federal district court cases;\n\n5. Coordinate with other state offices including, but not\n\nlimited to, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, agency tribal\n\nliaisons and the Secretary of Native American Affairs to develop\n\ntraining and education on missing and murdered indigenous persons\n\nissues and the state-tribal government-to-government relationship;\n\n6. Facilitate trainings for law enforcement and members of the\n\npublic on issues relating to missing and murdered indigenous\n\npersons; and\n\n7.
