The movement of inmates from one location to another shall\n\nbe controlled and supervised by staff.\n\nB. Staff shall provide twenty-four-hour supervision of inmates.\n\nC. Detention officer posts shall be located and staffed to\n\nmonitor all inmate activity either physically or electronically and\n\nin close enough proximity to the living areas to allow for immediate\n\nresponse to calls for assistance or emergency situations. A\n\ndetention officer shall be on duty at all times at each location\n\nwhere inmates are confined, or the observation of inmates shall be\n\nconducted by electronic means. The location shall be equipped with\n\nan intercommunication system in a location that is staffed twenty-\n\nfour (24) hours a day with personnel capable of providing an\n\nemergency response.\n\nD. There shall be sufficient staff to perform all assigned\n\nfunctions relating to security, custody, and supervision of inmates.\n\nStaff assignments shall provide for backup assistance for all\n\nemployees entering locations where inmates are confined as required\n\nin the Oklahoma Jail Standards Act.\n\nE. All inmates shall be searched when entering or leaving the\n\nsecurity area.\n\nF. Policies shall specify a system for the supervision of\n\nfemale inmates by male staff and supervision of male inmates by\n\nfemale staff.\n\nG. When both male and female inmates are housed in a detention\n\nfacility, at least one male and one female detention officer shall\n\nbe available to perform sensitive functions and procedures as\n\nnecessary to accommodate inmate gender.\n\nH. An inmate shall be prohibited from supervising, controlling,\n\nor exerting or assuming any authority over another inmate.\n\nI. The name and telephone number of the practicing attorneys\n\nand bonds persons in the area shall be posted conspicuously near the\n\ntelephone used by the inmates.\n\nJ.
