Stat. tit. 74, § 74-2.2","heading":"Vacancies requiring legislative confirmation - Interim","body":"appointments.\n\nA. When a vacancy occurs in any position in state government\n\nand appointment to the position for a full term is subject to\n\nconfirmation by one or both houses of the Legislature, such\n\nconfirmation shall be required for the appointment to fill the\n\nvacancy for the unexpired term.\n\nB. A person whose nomination has been submitted to the\n\nLegislature may be appointed to hold such office on an acting or\n\ninterim basis and may assume the duties of the office and receive\n\nany compensation or travel reimbursement allowed by law for the\n\nposition pending confirmation by one or both houses of the\n\nLegislature. No person whose nomination has been withdrawn by the\n\nGovernor or other appointing authority after the effective date of\n\nthis act or rejected by one or both houses of the Legislature after\n\nthe effective date of this act shall be eligible to hold such office\n\non an acting or interim basis.
