The Travel Promotion Division shall:\n\n1. Encourage the orderly growth and development of tourism to\n\nand within the state by preparing and maintaining a comprehensive\n\nfive-year travel development master plan and supporting marketing\n\nplan jointly with the private sector;\n\n2. Create and convey an accurate, responsible, and elevated\n\nimage of the state and its natural, cultural, historical, and\n\nrecreational attractions and events;\n\n3. Organize, coordinate, and conduct state, regional, national,\n\nand international marketing programs to increase the number of\n\ndomestic and international travelers to Oklahoma;\n\n4. Create, develop, produce, distribute, implement, and\n\nevaluate the effectiveness of public information programs, including\n\npublicity, brochures, public relations activities, film and slide\n\nproduction, still and audio visual photography, digital and\n\nelectronic media, public service programs, advertising, and other\n\ninformational aids for the promotion of tourism to the general\n\npublic and the media;\n\n5. Coordinate, advise and provide technical assistance to\n\ncities, counties, and regional tourism organizations in the state in\n\nthe planning, development, and execution of tourism programs;\n\n6. Cooperate and participate with neighboring states and the\n\nfederal government to promote travel from domestic and international\n\nmarkets;\n\n7. Develop and partner with other entities of government and\n\nprivate entities to obtain timely research data to measure traveler\n\nvolume and economic impact, determine traveler profiles, evaluate,\n\nand analyze market and advertising effectiveness;\n\n8. Plan, coordinate, and conduct statewide conferences,\n\nseminars, and workshops to inform and educate representatives from\n\nthe public and private sector in the state about programs and travel\n\ntrends which affect the tourism industry;\n\n9. Provide organization and coordination assistance to public\n\nand private tourism promotion organizations for participation in\n\ncooperative advertising and promotion opportunities with the\n\nDepartment, including travel trade marketplaces, consumer sport,\n\ntravel, and recreation shows within and outside the state;\n\n10. Administer matching grant programs to multicounty\n\norganizations which promote travel and tourism to their areas of the\n\nstate that are consistent and coordinated with the statewide travel\n\nmarketing plan; and\n\n11. Assist other state agencies with special tourism promotion\n\nprojects, development of professional training opportunities and\n\nother projects which provide services to travelers.\n\nB. The Division may facilitate travel to and within the state\n\nby encouraging development of a tourism industry infrastructure\n\nwhich provides investment incentives to tourism businesses and\n\ntourism product development.\n\nC. The Division may contract with professionally qualified\n\ncompanies or individuals for services to assist in the development\n\nand production of advertising, promotion, publicity, and public\n\nrelations programs, primary and secondary research data collection\n\nincluding analysis of state travel marketing programs and economic\n\nimpact information.\n\nD. The Division may plan, construct, lease, operate, and\n\nmaintain state-of-the-art tourism information centers and a central\n\nfulfillment warehouse. The centers shall be utilized for the\n\npurpose of providing services, selling merchandise, and distributing\n\ninformation to travelers on the tourism facilities and opportunities\n\nin the state.\n\nE. The Division may, upon approval of the Commission, lease for\n\na reasonable rate, retail and advertising space in state-operated\n\ntourism information centers. A performance bond, certificate of\n\ndeposit, letter of credit, or cash equivalent, may be required by\n\nthe Commission on any such lease.\n\nF. Photographs, film recordings, video recordings, digital\n\nrecords and like recordings or records produced by or for the\nupon approval of the Commission, lease for\n\na reasonable rate, retail and advertising space in state-operated\n\ntourism information centers. A performance bond, certificate of\n\ndeposit, letter of credit, or cash equivalent, may be required by\n\nthe Commission on any such lease.\n\nF.
