Stat. tit. 74, § 74-324.8","heading":"Uniform force and effect - Authority of cities, towns","body":"and counties.\n\nThe rules promulgated pursuant to Section 324.1 et seq. of this\n\ntitle shall have uniform force and effect throughout the state and\n\nno municipality or subdivision shall enact or enforce any\n\nordinances, rules for construction of or major alterations to\n\nbuildings with standards less stringent than the building code, as\n\nlast adopted by the Oklahoma Uniform Building Code Commission.\n\nProvided, nothing in this act shall prevent or take away from any\n\ncity, town or county, the authority to enact and enforce rules\n\ncontaining higher standards and requirements than those provided\n\nherein nor prevent or take away from any city, town or county the\n\nauthority to amend such adopted codes to make changes necessary to\n\naccommodate local conditions.
