Stat. tit. 74, § 74-360.16","heading":"Definitions","body":"\n\nAs used in the Oklahoma Campus Security Act:\n\n1. \"Campus\" means the real property, buildings and other\n\nimprovements within this state owned, leased or rented by an\n\ninstitution of higher education, a public school district, a private\n\nschool or an airport public trust, as defined in this section;\n\n2. \"Campus police officer\" means an individual holding a\n\ncommission from and employed by an institution of higher education,\n\na public school district, a private school or an airport public\n\ntrust pursuant to the Oklahoma Campus Security Act, who may also be\n\nknown as a \"campus public safety officer\", an \"airport officer\", an\n\n\"airport police officer\" or an \"airport security officer\";\n\n3. \"Commission\" means a certificate of appointment by the\n\ngoverning board of an institution of higher education or of a\n\nprivate school or a board of education of a public school district\n\nof an individual certified as a full-time police or peace officer\n\npursuant to Section 3311 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes;\n\n4. \"Governing board\" means the board of regents or trustees\n\nwhich determines management policy and has responsibility for the\n\ngeneral government of an institution of higher education or of a\n\nprivate school or the board of education of a public school\n\ndistrict;\n\n5. \"Institution of higher education\" means a college,\n\nuniversity, higher educational center, or other constituent agency\n\nof The Oklahoma State System of Higher Education or a private\n\ncollege or university in this state whose accreditation is\n\nrecognized by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education\n\npursuant to Section 4103 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes;\n\n6. \"Public school district\" means all free schools supported by\n\npublic taxation and shall include K-12 schools and technology center\n\nschools;\n\n7. \"Airport public trust\" means a public trust created under\n\nthe laws of this state which operates an airport and whose\n\nbeneficiary is an Oklahoma municipality or a combination of one or\n\nmore Oklahoma municipalities and/or one or more Oklahoma counties;\n\nand\n\n8. \"Private school\" means a school that offers a course of\n\ninstruction for students in one or more grades from prekindergarten\n\nthrough grade twelve and is not operated by a governmental entity.","path":["OK Code","Title 74"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os74.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"9b21c097417374e3becc233f40b7583d1d9afc9134d37354e184ad569008b551","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-74-74-360.15","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-74-74-360.17"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
