In order to establish a public employee benefit program to\n\nencourage outstanding performance in the workplace, the Director of\n\nthe Office of Management and Enterprise Services is hereby directed\n\nto establish an on-the-job employee performance recognition program\n\nwhich encourages outstanding job performance and productivity.\n\nB. In order to promote excellence in job performance and\n\nprovide recognition for work units with exceptional performance,\n\nstate agencies are authorized to expend from monies available in the\n\nagency's operating funds so much thereof as may be necessary for the\n\npurchase of recognition awards for presentation to the members of\n\nwork units or individual employees with exceptional job performance\n\nrecords or for other significant contributions to the operation of\n\nthe agency. State agencies may also provide for such recognition\n\nawards to be cash awards.\n\nC. Recognition awards may be presented to members of work units\n\nor individual employees having exceptional job performance records\n\nor other significant contributions and such awards may be presented\n\nat a formal or informal ceremony, banquet or reception, the cost of\n\nwhich may be expended from monies available in the agency's\n\noperating funds.\n\nD. 1. Recognition awards may consist of distinctive wearing\n\napparel, service pins, plaques, writing pens, or other distinguished\n\nawards of a value not exceeding One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00)\n\nper recognized employee each fiscal year to recognize the\n\nachievement of the work unit or individual employee.\n\n2.
