Every candidate or candidate committee for state or county\n\noffice and every other committee failing to file registrations and\n\nreports of contributions and expenditures or statements of\n\ninactivity on or before the days specified in Chapter 10 of the\n\nRules of the Ethics Commission shall be assessed by the Ethics\n\nCommission a late filing fee of up to One Hundred Dollars ($100.00)\n\nfor each day after a report of contributions and expenditures is due\n\nthat said report remains unfiled; provided, the total amount of such\n\nfees assessed per report shall not exceed One Thousand Dollars\n\n($1,000.00).\n\nB. Committees campaigning for or against an initiative or\n\nreferendum petition, legislative referendum, or a state question who\n\nfail to file reports of contributions and expenditures on or before\n\nthe days specified in Chapter 10 of the Rules of the Ethics\n\nCommission shall be assessed by the Ethics Commission a late filing\n\nfee of up to One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) for each day after a\n\nreport of contributions and expenditures is due that said report\n\nremains unfiled; provided, the total amount of such fee assessed per\n\nreport filing shall not exceed Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00).\n\nC. Every person failing to file a statement of financial\n\ninterests or financial disclosure statement on or before the days\n\nspecified in Chapter 15 of the Rules of the Ethics Commission shall\n\nbe assessed by the Ethics Commission a late filing fee of up to One\n\nHundred Dollars ($100.00) for each day the statement remains\n\nunfiled; provided, the total amount of such fees assessed per\n\nstatement shall not exceed One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00).\n\nD. The treasurer, except for treasurers for candidates or\n\ncandidate committees, may be liable for the late fee. Failure to\n\nfile a registration, report or statement shall be deemed to be a\n\nseparate offense for each day that the registration, report or\n\nstatement remains unfiled after it becomes due. The first Twenty-\n\nfive Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) per calendar year derived from\n\nfees collected pursuant to the provisions of this section shall be\n\ndeposited with the State Treasurer to the credit of the Ethics\n\nCommission Fund and any amount in excess of Twenty-five Thousand\n\nDollars ($25,000.00) per calendar year shall be deposited in the\n\nGeneral Revenue Fund.
