Authorized persons traveling on official state business\n\nwithin the State of Oklahoma may utilize railroads, airplanes,\n\nbuses, whether intracity or intercity, or other public conveyance.\n\nReimbursement for fares paid for airplane transportation shall not\n\nexceed coach class fare except as provided herein. Reimbursement\n\nfor fares paid for airplane transportation may be at the business\n\nclass fare rate for international travel. Other public conveyance\n\nfares shall not exceed the lesser of the normal charge or coach\n\nclass airplane fare. Taxicab or rideshare fares within the State of\n\nOklahoma and communication charges may be reimbursed only upon\n\njustification as to the necessity for their use.\n\nB. Agency heads or their authorized designees may approve the\n\nuse of motor vehicles for official travel within the State of\n\nOklahoma. If available, agency owned motor vehicles or motor\n\nvehicles leased from the State Motor Pool, either on a full-time\n\nbasis or for individual trips, shall be utilized for such travel.\n\nReimbursement for use of privately owned motor vehicles may be\n\nauthorized by the agency head.\n\nC. Reimbursement for authorized use of privately owned motor\n\nvehicles shall not exceed the amount prescribed by the Internal\n\nRevenue Code of 1986, as amended, or rules, procedures or other\n\naction by the Internal Revenue Service, for use in determining the\n\nstandard mileage rate allowed for a business expense deduction.\n\nDistances for which reimbursement for use of privately owned motor\n\nvehicles is claimed shall be actual business miles based on a\n\nrecognized Global Positioning System (GPS) or based on map and\n\nvicinity business mileage.","path":["OK Code","Title 74"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os74.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d324cf1ba4fb29624a59ec400e314b9fad781947b70e2d5f6bd777f68652b1cf","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-74-74-500.37","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-74-74-500.5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
