Stat. tit. 74, § 74-500.6","heading":"Travel by privately owned or chartered airplane -","body":"Reimbursement of fuel costs for personal aircraft used in criminal\n\npursuits or searches.\n\nA. Travel by any state officer or employee on official state\n\nbusiness on any privately owned or chartered airplane may be\n\nreimbursed in an amount which, when added to per diem and\n\nreimbursement for lodging for that trip, does not exceed the\n\nequivalent of automobile mileage plus per diem and reimbursement for\n\nlodging had a privately owned automobile been used for the trip.\n\nThe provisions of Section 500.4 of this title shall apply to\n\ncalculation of automobile mileage equivalent in this section.\n\nB. Upon completion of each trip, the pilot of any airplane\n\nowned by this state shall enter into a record book the names of all\n\npassengers on the airplane, date, destination, mileage, duration,\n\npurpose, and expense of the trip. The pilot shall sign each entry\n\nin the record book. Said book may be inspected by the State Auditor\n\nand Inspector.\n\nC. Expenses of the trip are to be charged to the state\n\ndepartments or agencies of the officers or employees using the\n\nairplane. For the purposes of this section the term expense of the\n\ntrip shall include but is not limited to the cost of operating the\n\nairplane, the duration of the trip, and the salary of the pilot.\n\nD. Any non-elected law enforcement official or citizen who\n\noffers for use his or her personal airplane or aircraft for searches\n\nor criminal pursuits may be reimbursed by the public entity\n\nrequesting such assistance for the cost of fuel used during such\n\nofficial business. Each public entity authorizing the use of any\n\nairplane or other aircraft for such purpose shall establish a policy\n\nto verify information they deem necessary to reimburse such\n\nindividual for cost of fuel used pursuant to this subsection.
