Stat. tit. 74, § 74-5037","heading":"Community action agencies - Boards of directors","body":"A community action agency shall establish a governing board of\n\ndirectors which shall consist of not less than twelve nor more than\n\nthirty-six members. At least one-third of the members shall be\n\nrepresentative of the poor in the areas served and shall be chosen\n\nthrough a democratic selection process. One-third of the members\n\nshall be elected public officials or their designees as established\n\nby the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. The remaining members shall\n\nbe representative of business, industry, labor, religious, welfare,\n\neducation or other major groups and interests in the community. The\n\ncommunity action agency board of directors shall be responsible for:\n\n1. The appointment and dismissal of an executive director of the\n\ncommunity action agency;\n\n2. The approval of contracts, annual budget requests and\n\noperational policies of the community action agency;\n\n3. The performance of an annual audit by an independent\n\nauditor;\n\n4. Convening of public meetings to provide citizens the\n\nopportunity to comment on public policies and programs to reduce\n\npoverty;\n\n5. Evaluate programs and policies of the community action\n\nagency; and\n\n6.
